(CNN) -- An event to remember the victims of Iran's post-election protests has been postponed Thursday, a day after security forces crushed a planned demonstration.
In a part of the Muslim world where women are often perceived of as the repressed gender, images of Iranian women during and after the recent elections have catapulted Iran's female demonstrators into the forefront of the country's opposition movement.
